FRIDAY ROUNDUP: 5/17/2024

by hapago

OK! There’s so much music out today or that came out this week that I’m extremely stoked about. Thank god for music, rock’s back. New songs from son of the challenger, Shellac, Wishy, NTSC>P, and more!

  1. WISHY – “LOVE ON THE OUTSIDE”!
There’s not a lot of words that I can come up with that really capture how much I love this song. I am constantly singing this song and it hasn’t left my head since the first time I heard it. It’s the song of the summer, baby
  2. SON OF THE CHALLENGER – “KICK YOUR ASS”!
Delaney couldn’t write a bad song even if she tried. “FARM CAT” is a hit! I know all the words to “THE MACHINE!” Her latest, “KICK YOUR ASS,” is honest and direct to the point. “I know I can trust you because what exists in you exists in me too” COME ON !!!!!!!!!!
  3. SHELLAC – “TO ALL TRAINS”!
It was a sad day when Albini died, and while it’s a sad day still, the record is out now and it’s fitting the last song is titled “I DON’T FEAR HELL”. Conner sent it to me this morning and I listened to the whole thing in one go. R.I.P. Steve Albini.
  4. NTSC Pal – “FULL OF SPOTS”!
What can’t BILLIAM do?! He’s one of the most prolific people on the planet. NTSC Pal is his new project, and the fantastic debut was recorded in a singular day. What did I even do today? Eat breakfast? I’m excited to hear more NTSC Pal, given that I’ve already listened to these four songs fifteen times each today.
