Like a $20 bill you find in your pocket after you do laundry, this was one of the best surprises that seemingly came out of left field: “BIG SKY” by TWYE!

I haven’t stopped bumping “Hollow” since it came out, mostly in part to the outro with the “la la la, la la” (LISTEN BANDS: more la la la’s in 2024 and into 2025 please).

These songs are super special. Really I have no clue how Jacob kept them so secretive til now, if it was me I’d make the whole world listen. They sound incredible as well, but that’s come to be expected of any project that’s got Thad Kopec listed in the credits.

“Saddle,” the record closer, is a beautiful stop-and-start song that expands into a lush, wide-open soundscape with comforting fuzzed out guitars that speak at the same volume as the acoustic leading the song.

I really hope to see these songs live at some point, would love to see the full thing. Go listen to TWYE everywhere and listen as much as humanly possible.
