What’s up y’all! As I write this we are sitting in traffic on the George Washington Bridge outside of New Yawk. We’re headed up to Boston, one of my favorite cities in the U.S. It’s a crazy place and I dunno if I’d ever live there but every time I’ve been it’s been an amazing time.
We’ve got two shows with BASEMENT, NARROW HEAD, and OVLOV under our belts now and it’s been nothing short of amazing. On this short run together I’m checking off two dream venues to play, the 9:30 CLUB in D.C. and BROOKLYN STEEL in New Yawk. Never seen a show in either, and I’m stoked the first time I set foot in both will be to play.
It’s been awesome so far. All of the BASEMENT guys are super nice and have really been showing us a good time. It’s sweet getting to play a small part in their reunion, and seeing how stoked these insane crowds are on it. Last night I was watching them and there’s a part of the set where Andrew does a song on acoustic guitar, and every single person was singing right along with him, hanging onto every single word. I missed out on BASEMENT the first time around, but have now developed a late onset affinity for them.
NARROW HEAD is a crazy band as well. They go so hard night after night and play loud as fuck and they’re all in perfect sync with each other. We bump the song “MOMENTS OF CLARITY” in the van a lot. OVLOV as well, they were a band I loved a long time ago and getting to play with them all these years later is a dream come true. They are also the ultimate chillers.
Been reading the Hunter Davies’ BEATLES biography I picked up in London a few weeks ago, it was the only biography that all four of them ever authorized. It’s dated at points but it’s interesting to get that first hand account. Connor and I watched the first episode of the FALLOUT TV show two nights ago and I thought that was pretty good, it felt a bit forced at times but I always love seeing my boy KYLE MACLACHLAN pop out. Anyways this traffic is haunting me so I think I’m gonna try to get some shut eye before we rock out in New England tonight. Talk soon!
